Functional LoveI never was a creature made of silk. Rough tough stuff, broken nails Hard working callused hands, Pockets stuffed with bandages and safety pins. A useful sort of person, in short.
It's what I've always tried to be. It's the only way to be. I have no time to file my nails Crimp and preen over my hair Fuss with makeup or faff with flounces.
I may not be the delicate whispy creature which captures your artist's imagination Or inspires your inner poet to words. There are others in your life who fill that role And fill it admirably.

Beginnings and EndingsBookends to a section of time, Beginnings and endings belong in pairs; Something that never really began Can't truly end. And those things that begin with purpose Should always end in the same way.
Think back through a long life And you will remember your 'firsts' As clearly as if they were yesterday. We should remember our lasts too, Even if it's with a bitter sweet edge. Sweet things left too long go sour And it is best to end them Before they spoil and rot.

Welcome friendly ghosts

...apparently some phantoms from my past, who I assumed would have long forgotten me, have been browsing through my gallery.

Such ghosts are more than welcome. If they would like to make themselves and their presence officially known to me and give me some feedback - there's a link to an email address near the userinfo stuff at the top of the page.

I am amazed at how much I have used this site since I got it. So much stuff has been put up here. Even though Lost Words has slowed to a halt since I went back to fulltime study, the poetry has continued at a rate (mostly thanks to my wonderful Muse, who inspired both Chivalry and Atlas) and my gallery now has more than 70 pieces in it.

Wow.

I write more than I thought I did.

Oooohhh, I didn't realise you liked Aimee Mann as well! I was on a high yesterday when I saw she had a new album out *bounces* and promptly got it. Still prefer Bachelor No.2 though, it has by far the best songs (although Pavlov's Bell will always be a favourite)

Anyhoo, this is on my incredibly slow home PC (named Smee; it's old and bumbling) so I shall go through your work and such at a later date on a uni PC...

Nice to see you back on here again. I am a fan of Aimee Mann, but I haven't heard a lot of her stuff, and winmx doesn't tend to have the largest selection available for download. I didn't realise she had a new album out - I shall have to go searching for that...
